Governor Adeleke Unites Feuding Ife PDP

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has successfully resolved a tense dispute within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ife Federal Constituency, calling on party members to stay vigilant against divisive external influences.

At a high-powered reconciliation meeting in Osogbo, attended by key figures including the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi; Senate Minority Deputy Leader Senator Lere Oyewumi; PDP State Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi; and other notable party stalwarts, the rift was traced to a communication gap and orchestrated attempts by opposition agents to destabilise party unity. Governor Adeleke commended attendees for their openness and called for collective focus on the rescheduled 2026 elections.

He asserted, “Ile Ife PDP is truly united again,” urging members to return to grassroots mobilisation, emphasising that Ife remains a PDP stronghold. Hon. Sunday Bisi described the discord as a “family affair” that has now been laid to rest. Also, he directed that mobilisation meetings should resume and cautioned against any conduct that could be misconstrued as anti-party action.

This resolution follows recent tensions marked by a vote of no confidence in Deputy Governor Adewusi and others, accusing them of anti-party activities.

However, the Osun State Government publicly reaffirmed full confidence in Adewusi and Prof. Wale Oladipo, characterising the fallout as an internal family matter being amicably addressed through party mechanisms.

With unity restored, the PDP in Ife is now poised for cohesive mobilisation ahead of the statewide 2026 polls, signalling renewed momentum under Governor Adeleke’s leadership.
