Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has handed over a brand-new 40-seater bus to Niger Tornadoes Football Club, aiming to ease the team’s logistical pressures during away games and training.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Government House, Minna. Governor Bago reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting sports within the state.

Receiving the bus on behalf of the club was Alhaji Danjuma Abdullahi Masun, Chairman of the Niger State Sports Commission. He thanked the governor for fulfilling his pledge, noting that the bus will go a long way in resolving the team’s transport issues and improving player morale.

At the same event, Governor Bago also welcomed the State contingent of the recently concluded 9th National Youth Games in Asaba, where Niger State finished 13th overall, with 11 medals across various sports including gold in handball, weightlifting, boxing and scrabble.

The governor promised to later honour the athletes and officials for their achievements.
