Former Super Eagles Captain Joseph Yobo Returns to School

Joseph Yobo, former captain of the Nigerian national football team, has enrolled in a university programme as part of his commitment to personal development and lifelong learning. The ex-defender, who enjoyed a distinguished career playing for clubs like Everton and Fenerbahçe, stated that education is a tool he values greatly and is eager to explore further now that his football career is over.
Yobo emphasized that his return to school is meant to inspire young people, especially athletes, to prioritize education alongside sports. He noted that while football gave him a global platform, acquiring formal education will help him contribute meaningfully in leadership and mentorship roles within and outside the sporting community.
