A UBA bank branch on Lagos Island is currently experiencing a serious fire incident, with flames reportedly consuming parts of the building. Video footage obtained by Politics Nigeria shows thick smoke and intense flames ripping through sections of the structure.
Details about how the blaze started remain unclear. Fire and emergency services are on site attempting to contain the fire. So far, there have been no official reports of casualties. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the fire has spread to adjacent buildings.
The branch affected is in the Idumagbo Avenue area of Lagos Island. Citizens in the vicinity were seen observing the blaze from a distance, while local residents expressed concern for safety and the potential for further damage if the fire is not quickly brought under control.
