FBI Releases Footage, Recovers Weapon in Charlie Kirk Case; Manhunt Intensifies

The FBI has released video showing the suspect fleeing across the rooftop of a building after the fatal shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. The footage, shared during a press briefing, captures a figure described as being of college age jumping from the roof and running toward a nearby wooded area.


Law enforcement officials have also recovered what they believe to be the murder weapon, a high-powered bolt-action rifle, found in a wooded area near the scene. Physical evidence collected includes shoe impressions, palm and forearm prints from the rooftop.


Meanwhile, the suspect remains at large. Authorities are appealing to the public for tips and are offering a US$100,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person involved.


Governor Spencer Cox has pledged to seek the death penalty if the suspect is apprehended, saying the attack was a “targeted event.”
