Former Minister of Women Affairs, Josephine Anenih, has stated that Atiku Abubakar quietly exited the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) following his loss in the 2023 presidential election. According to Anenih, the former Vice President’s commitment to the party waned after the defeat, and he has since distanced himself from its core activities and leadership processes.

Anenih criticized Atiku’s post-election silence and absence from strategic party functions, asserting that his actions reflect a departure from PDP ideals. She urged party stakeholders to acknowledge this reality and begin reorganizing the party around committed members. The revelation adds to ongoing speculation about Atiku’s political future and the PDP’s internal cohesion ahead of upcoming elections.
