Drama as Hilda Baci’s Giant Jollof Pot Nearly Collapses During Weigh-In at World Record Attempt

A dramatic moment erupted at the “Gino World Jollof Festival with Hilda Baci” in Lagos when the massive jollof pot nearly gave way during the official weigh-in, sending gasps through the crowd.
The enormous pot, custom-built for the event and capable of holding 22,619 litres, was being lifted by a crane to be placed on scales for Guinness World Record verification when one side of the pot began to buckle under the strain. Its lid came loose, and the pot’s legs bent when a sling was used, prompting members of Baci’s team to frantically signal the crane operator to stop.
Hilda Baci was visibly distressed, pacing around the pot and watching anxiously as officials rushed to stabilise the situation.
Despite the scare, organisers later packed the cooked rice into coolers and began distribution, while confirming that safety remained their top priority and that the record attempt would continue.
