Bayer Leverkusen has reportedly set an asking price of €50 million for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface as they prepare for potential summer transfer negotiations. The 24-year-old forward, who joined Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023, has been a significant contributor to the team's success, including their historic unbeaten Bundesliga title-winning campaign in the 2023/24 season.

Despite his on-field contributions, Boniface's future at Leverkusen has become uncertain. In January, he was close to securing a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr for a reported fee of €70 million. However, the deal fell through as Al Nassr opted to sign Aston Villa's Jhon Duran instead.

Following the failed transfer, Boniface experienced a dip in form and was relegated to the bench, leading to speculation about his commitment and behavior. Reports suggest that Leverkusen is looking to offload either Boniface or fellow striker Patrik Schick to streamline their squad and finances.

Boniface's current contract with Leverkusen runs until 2029, but his desire for more consistent playing time and the club's strategic planning could facilitate a move. Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, have shown interest in the striker, who has scored 10 goals and provided one assist in 21 appearances across all competitions this season.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Boniface's situation remains one to watch, with Leverkusen open to offers that meet their valuation.
