Aregbesola Not in France – Media Aide Dismisses Rumours of Meeting with Tinubu

Sola Fasure, spokesperson to former Osun State Governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has categorically denied viral reports suggesting that Aregbesola is currently in France to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The claim, which emerged from a social media post earlier this week, has been described by Fasure as “mischievous” and entirely unfounded.
In a statement released on Tuesday, April 15, Fasure addressed the speculation, saying:
“Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous report on social media claiming that the former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is currently in France to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We wish to categorically state that this is false, and there is absolutely no truth to it.”
Aregbesola Is in Abuja, Not Abroad
Contrary to the circulating rumours, Fasure clarified that Aregbesola has not left Nigeria and is currently in Abuja, actively working from within the country.
“Ogbeni Aregbesola is presently in Abuja and has not travelled outside the shores of Nigeria. The report is entirely false and unfounded and should therefore be totally disregarded.”
The aide's firm rebuttal aims to put an end to speculation suggesting that Aregbesola was abroad for political consultations or secret meetings with the president—claims that have now been officially debunked.
Call for Responsible Reporting
Fasure further urged the public and media outlets to verify information before sharing, especially when it involves prominent political figures.
“We urge the public to ignore such misleading reports. These kinds of stories are distractions that do not serve the truth or the interests of the Nigerian people,” the statement concluded.
