The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called out President Bola Tinubu for failing to fulfill his promise of providing 24/7 electricity to Nigerians. In a public statement, the party noted that despite the President’s pledge during his campaign to revamp the power sector and end the country's chronic electricity problems, millions of Nigerians continue to suffer from persistent power outages.

The ADC described the situation as unacceptable, pointing out that lack of steady electricity is affecting businesses, healthcare, and the general quality of life across the country. The party urged the President to stop offering excuses and instead take immediate and practical steps to address the energy crisis. They added that Nigerians are growing impatient with the administration’s slow pace on infrastructure reform.

According to the ADC, the promise of round-the-clock power was one of the main reasons many citizens believed in Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. However, more than a year into his tenure, the national grid remains unreliable, with several parts of the country enduring blackouts for days.
