Acting Head of Service Sworn in by Rivers State Administrator After Resignation

The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Retired), has sworn in Dr Iyingi Brown as acting Head of Service, following the resignation of Dr George Nwaeke.


Dr Nwaeke stepped down on Tuesday, a statement from the Office of the Head of Service confirmed, expressing gratitude for his contributions during his tenure.


Dr Brown, previously Permanent Secretary for Welfare in the Office of the Head of Service, will serve in the acting capacity pending the appointment of a permanent replacement.


As part of a broader administrative reshuffle, the administrator also appointed Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), effective immediately.


Administrator Ibas assured the public of his commitment to neutrality, peace, and stability in Rivers State’s governance during this transitional period.
