Abia Deputy Governor Warns Against Illegal Revenue Collection by Impersonators
Omoyeni Olabode

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Ikechukwu Emetu, has issued a strong warning to individuals and groups engaging in illegal revenue collection across the state. He noted that the state government has received several reports of impostors parading themselves as revenue agents, extorting unsuspecting members of the public, and undermining the administration’s financial systems.
Emetu emphasized that only properly accredited officials are authorized to collect any form of revenue on behalf of the government. He urged residents and business operators to demand identification and report any suspicious activities. The government, he added, is determined to rid the state of illegal practices and ensure transparency in its revenue generation processes.
