Abducted NYSC Member Sandra Sunday Regains Freedom

Sandra Sunday, a corps member serving with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has regained her freedom days after being kidnapped by gunmen. Her release was confirmed on Monday by a family member following days of intense anxiety and public concern over her safety.
Sandra was among a group of youth corps members abducted along the Kabba–Lokoja road in Kogi State while traveling to their places of primary assignment after completing their orientation camp exercise.

“Although details surrounding her release remain sketchy at the time of filing this report, her family expressed gratitude to God and everyone who contributed to efforts that led to her freedom.”

In a related security update from the axis, the Kogi State Police Command confirmed that ten corps members were rescued from Egume Forest in Ofu Local Government Area following a joint, intelligence-driven operation by security forces. Authorities noted that tactical operations remain ongoing in the area to secure any remaining victims and dismantle criminal networks operating along the highway corridors.
