WHY EVEN OPPOSITION GOVERNORS ARE TEAM TINUBU: THE SECRET IS OUT by Dr Steve Adewole
Olamilekan Boluwatife

If you’ve been wondering why Governors, yes, even those from opposition parties are suddenly singing President Tinubu’s praises and working like never before, take a minute to hear Governor Hope Uzodinma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum. He just dropped the mic.
*Before Tinubu came on board, Imo State was getting just N5 billion a month.* That’s barely enough to fix roads, pay salaries, and keep things moving. Fast forward to today, that figure has jumped to N13 billion, and it’s not stopping there. Once the tax reform bills kick in later this year, expect even more money flowing to the states, and less of it slipping through the cracks.
Here’s the kicker: Uzodinma says he’s now running projects without borrowing left and right. That’s huge. No more piling up debt just to lay a kilometer of road or renovate a school.
And it’s not just Imo. A few weeks ago, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani said it loud and clear Tinubu practically saved his government from drowning in the ocean of debt he inherited. That’s not politics. That’s real-life governance.
What’s happening is simple: Tinubu is fixing the system from the top, and governors are finally getting the tools they need to deliver at the grassroots. That’s why they’re not just backing him they’re on the frontlines working for him like their political lives depend on it. Because honestly? They kinda do.
This isn’t about slogans. It’s about results. About schools, salaries, and roads actually getting fixed. About states being able to breathe and build again. The era of empty promises is over. Tinubu is playing the long game, and governors across Nigeria know they better get on board or get left behind.

I completely agree with Dr. Steve Adewole, the Governors and jumping ships because of the impact President Tinubu played in the economic life of their State. Thanks for your analysis sir
